Development of Distribution Infrastructure Under RDSS (Kerala)

Executing major turnkey power distribution projects across Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam districts under the Government of India’s Revamped Reforms-based and Results-linked, Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS).

This project aims to modernize power distribution networks, reduce line losses, improve grid reliability, and ensure uninterrupted, high-quality power delivery across southern Kerala.

Scope of Turnkey Works:

• HT / LT Reconductoring Works: Upgrading legacy overhead lines with high-capacity, low-loss conductors to minimize power loss and prevent frequent dropouts.

• New AB / UG Cabling: Installing Aerial Bunched (AB) cables and laying Underground (UG) cabling systems to increase network safety, durability, and resistance to harsh weather conditions.

• RMU (Ring Main Unit) Installation: Modernizing network switching by setting up compact RMUs for automated fault isolation and fast power restoration.

• Transformer Works: Installation of new transformers, capacity enhancements, and physical uplifting/relocation to meet growing load demands efficiently.

• High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS): Converting conventional LT networks into HVDS to reduce distribution losses, prevent voltage fluctuations, and eliminate power theft.

• Capacitor Bank Installation: Setting up dedicated capacitor banks across critical nodes to optimize reactive power, improve power factor, and maintain voltage stability.
